Emails

9-18-11

Well hopefully you have had a great week!  Sorry I didn't get a letter written and sent to you last week.  It was a pretty crazy Sunday.  We did get your birthday package in the mail yesterday, Saturday, so you should definitely have it by your birthday this Saturday.   I actually forgot to put in a new cd I bought for you because I was listening to it in the computer room.  I know you will enjoy it so I will send it next week.  Also I couldn't find your cd in your room so I will go through your music and burn you a disc with all of your church music.  And then I will make you some more granola too.  I tried to send some of your favorite things in your birthday package.  Hopefully you will enjoy them.
So Dad and Jake went to the BYU football game last night.  It was against the Utes.  BYU sucked and they lost 54 to 10.  Jake wanted to leave and come home even before half time.  Haha!  Sounds a little like you.
Got a facebook message from Jenny Hotchkiss.  She said that Elder Harris' parents met you and wanted us to know what a fine young man you are.  Do you know where Elder Harris is from in utah?  Jenny had a few more pictures of you on facebook.  It is fun to see more pictures of you when you are out and about in your missionary clothes.
So it  looks like the weather is going to start to cool down for you soon.  It has started to cool down here...feeling like fall.  As I put up the fall decorations yesterday I was thinking that the last time I took them down was last year after you had left.  That was a hard time for me.  It is crazy to think you have been gone almost a year now.
So I am speaking in church this sunday the 25th.  All of the missionary Moms are talking about what our homes are like with the boys gone.  I am going to center my talk around Faith.  Any favorite scriptures or stories about you needing faith while you are out there?
So Elder Carpenter the Missionary that I sent to go teach Grandpa Wallis got transferred.  Bummer!  He did invite Grandpa to take the lessons from the missionaries.  Not sure if they have contacted him or not.  Keep praying- we are!
Aunt Julie is not doing well.  I will keep you posted on that.  Just pray that she isn't in too much pain. Grandma Wallis is spending alot of time with her.  It is sad.
Suzie still hasn't had the baby.  She is BIG!  and very MISERABLE!  Hopefully Tuesday she will have the little one.  It is supposed to be a boy...but you never know.  haha
So last week we had missionary transfers in our area too and since I have adopted the area missionaries I have to say goodbye to all of them when they leave.  We have 4 missionaries over on tuesdays for dinner.  and 2 of the 4 were being transferred.  So they came to dinner and then left for a while then came back at 8 and stayed until 11pm.  We played spoons and I mended a suitcoat.  It was so fun!  It is hard to see some of them go.  I usually keep in touch with them via text after they are transferred. And then we will probably have a bunch of missionaries over for general conference weekend.  They usually take turns going down to the conference center.  They think that is pretty fun.  But they know they can nap on our couch.  hahaha
Well I miss you!!  Keep up the good work and let us know what's happening with you! I did send you some stamps in your package.
Love you so much!
Mom

YO!

I am excited for my package.. WHOOOOO-RAAAA!!!!!

An even more Rough week!!!!  We only had 3 lessons and saw only one less active.. AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
We actually met another less-active saturday night, we didn't teach him though.  Because hes been going to another church and he tried to break down our religious background and tried to convince me to recite a prayer he wanted me to say to see if i've been saved.  So i decided to bear my testimony to this guy.  When i did, he backed off.  I was really proud of myself, because i wasn't going to stand there and let him judge me, try to break me down, and try to convince me to turn away from this.  He even called my companion's testimony a text book answer.  That almost made me loss it.. but i didn't.

I 'm writing a short email today, ok?  Because i bought some stamps and sending 2 envelops with some pictures and letters in them.
Ashley, I wrote you one of me favorite parables about the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Jake, Another comic book!

I will keep praying for both grandpas, and aunt Julie.

Gotta go, Love ya'll

Jed sent another email...

Hey, forward this to grandpa Wallis and tell him it is my favorite talk from Jeffery R. Holland. thanks Jed
